We are a multi-disciplinary team consisting of Specialist Pelvic Health Nurses, Specialist Pelvic Health Physiotherapists and support staff. We work closely with urology, gynaecology, obstetrics, midwifery and colorectal specialists to provide a comprehensive service for our patients.
The Pelvic Health Service provides specialist assessment and rehabilitation of pelvic health and pregnancy-related problems. Our service is highly confidential and respects the often-sensitive nature of these problems. Clinicians have experience in managing bladder, bowel and pelvic floor issues such as:
- Bladder or bowel incontinence
- Pelvic organ prolapse
- Sexual pain or difficulties
- Persistent pelvic pain (including vaginal, vulval, bladder and coccyx pain)
- Recovery from pelvic cancer or surgery
- Pregnancy related conditions (including pelvic girdle pain)
- Perinatal pelvic health problems (during pregnancy and up to a year after giving birth)
If you have been referred to the Pelvic Health service by your GP or consultant, it is important for your management that you book an appointment when you are offered. Often our patients are already following some of the advice, but we are able to offer a full assessment and individual guidance based on your specific symptoms and goals.
