Welcome to the Tameside & Glossop Macmillan Unit.
The Tameside Macmillan Unit has been created in partnership with the Trust and Macmillan Cancer Support.
The Tameside Macmillan Unit provides a single point of access for all appropriate cancer assessment, treatment and support services.
The Tameside Macmillan Unit has been awarded quality environment marks from both Macmillan Cancer Support and The Christie NHS Foundation Trust. Recognising the environment as a suitable supporting environment for people affected by cancer.
The Unit has bespoke outpatient clinic rooms and waiting areas, a chemotherapy suite with six chairs which provides treatment to a group of patients and a private room for acute chemotherapy. This is delivered in partnership with The Christie NHS Foundation Trust.
There is a patient lounge where patients and relatives can relax while waiting for their treatment or clinical nurse specialist appointments. There is also a relaxation garden and several support groups are held at the Unit.
