The Community Dietitians provide nutritional advice and care for individuals with a wide range of medical conditions.
These include;
- Nutritional support for people with poor appetites
- Gastroenterology conditions including coeliac disease
- Swallowing problems ( Dysphagia)
- Tube feeding
- Type 2 diabetes and pre diabetes
- Other conditions where diet is central to your treatment
The Service is provided in clinics, patient’s home and care homes as clinically needed. The Team use their expert knowledge of medical conditions and nutrition to assess and advise on the best diet to meet patients' nutritional needs
Appointments are offered face to face and via telephone.
The Team includes dietitians who are all registered with the Health and Care Professions Council (HCPC) and dietetic assistants.
Referrals can be made via your GP or other Healthcare worker.
Self-referrals are not accepted as we need to be aware of any medical conditions which would affect the advice we give.
To access the Service you should have a GP with in Tameside and Glossop or be a patient in the Stamford Unit.
