Dermatology is the diagnosis and treatment of skin diseases, including acne, psoriasis, warts, skin infections and skin cancers. Our clinics deal with general dermatological problems and include rapid access for patients with suspected malignant melanoma and squamous cell carcinomas.

Our team is comprised of Consultants and Specialist Nurses.

Our dermatology service is led by Dr Loma Gardner alongside other consultants and specialist nurses. Together, the team provide the following services:

  • New and follow-up appointments for referrals of potential skin cancers
  • Nurse-led services for eczema and psoriasis
  • Nurse-led skin cancer support following diagnosis
  • Phototherapy
  • Consultations for inpatients with dermatology issues
  • Dermatology surgery that takes place in a dedicated minor operation room

Referrals can be made by GPs through the NHS e-Referral service or by a hospital clinician. Patients with suspected cancer should be referred via the two-week cancer pathway.
