Co-production is a collaboration between patients, carers, families, people, communities and those that work in healthcare services.

It is a shared process and set of principles that enables people to work together to create or produce something. This can involve sharing resources, knowledge and responsibilities to achieve a common goal or create a product, improve a service or experience. Co-production requires active involvement and participation from all, leading to shared decision making and mutual benefits.

In Tameside, we have co-produced this handy guide and toolkit in partnership with people who live and work in the locality to support people in the 'how to' of co-production.
