Two more colleagues at Tameside and Glossop ICFT have received Who's Your Hero awards for their outstanding commitment to patient care.

Chief Executive Karen James OBE handed out the latest awards to Emmanuel Nnaji, a Healthcare Support Worker, and Emma Connelly, who works as a Labour Ward Co-ordinator.

Emmanuel, who works on Ward 31, was not only nominated by his peers for being consistently supportive, but also received a nomination from a patient.

Back up his colleagues' remarks about Emmanuel's hard work to support all areas of the department, the patient commented: “Emmanuel is absolutely brilliant with all the patients. He is courteous, well-mannered and is kind and motivates other staff.”

Emma was presented with the award after showing incredible empathy and professionalism during an unthinkably difficult time.

Emma showed great compassion after a couple sadly lost their baby, only hours after birth, supporting the family and fellow colleagues who were also deeply affected by the bereavement.
