Last week the Trust officially launched a new Community IV Therapy suite at Ashton Primary Care Centre.
Peter Weller, our Chief Nurse and Executive Director of Nursing and Integrated Governance officially opened the new unit as well as presenting the team with a Who’s Your Hero Award for going above and beyond the call of duty.
The Community IV Therapy Team received a nomination from Mrs Flo Bagley who could not praise the team enough for the fantastic care they provided both her husband and her daughter. She said: “The whole team were absolutely fantastic. They were friendly, caring, made sure we were all OK and answered any questions we had. The team regularly phoned us to make sure we’d received updates from the hospital.”
Mrs Bagley was so impressed in the care, professionalism and attention her family received when they were at their most vulnerable that she felt that they deserved an award.
Chief Executive Karen James OBE, said, "It’s fantastic to hear and see the impact our community services are having on our patients and their families.
"Our Community IV Therapy Team offer both in-house and clinic based services. The new community clinic will provide care for patients who are more mobile and often require shorter treatment plans."
