Three teams from Tameside and Glossop NHS ICFT have been nominated for four awards at this year's Nursing Times Awards.
The ‘ME in deMEntia’ team were cited in the Care of Older People category for their immersive dementia experience training, which has helped staff empathise with dementia patients.
Our community colleagues have been nominated for two awards, Nursing in the Community and Patient Safety Improvement, for their delegation of insulin administration work. We are the first organisation nationally to successfully upskill carers, meaning better continuity of care for patients and the release of time for our district nursing team to concentrate on more complex patients.
The Trust's Advanced Cancer Nurse Specialists are up for the Ingrid Fuchs Cancer Nursing Award for their exceptional personalised care for patients with advanced cancers. This follows hot on the heels of their recent win at the GM Cancer Awards.
The winners will be announced during a ceremony at the JW Marriott Grosvenor House Hotel on Park Lane in London on Wednesday 23 October 2024.
