Patients and visitors are advised of a temporary, partial road closure on Fountain Street tomorrow (Wednesday 16 August) due to ongoing Emergency Department redevelopment works.
A section of the road will be closed to vehicles outside our Accident and Emergency (A&E) department from 6:30am until approximately midday. A diversion will be in place via Hartshead Close and Mellor Road.
The car park opposite our Tameside Macmillan Unit will remain accessible from the south end of Fountain Street, and the multi-storey car park will remain accessible from the north end of Fountain Street.
Footpaths will remain fully open for pedestrians on the Werneth House side of the road (opposite A&E).
If you are attending our A&E department by car or on foot, please alert staff who will be able to assist and where possible, approach the department from the north (Mossley Road) end.
Please follow the signage and instructions of staff to allow safe movement around site.
Traffic around the Hospital site may be slower than normal due to the redirection of traffic. Thank you for your patience and understanding.
