A nurse at Tameside and Glossop ICFT is in the running for a top national award after making the final shortlist of 12.
Farrah Amjad, a Blended Roles Facilitator in the Community District Nursing Team, has been shortlisted for a Nursing Times Award in the Ann Shuttleworth Rising Star category.
The awards bring together the nursing community to shine a light on the brightest talent in the profession.
The Ann Shuttleworth award recognises a nurse working in the NHS or independent sector who has been qualified for less than five years, who demonstrates exceptional qualities that embody the best of nursing and the leadership skills to inspire others to follow their example.
Farrah has received the nomination for her work with care staff, home care providers and care homes, as well as for strengthening relationships between managers, the local authority, district nurses and social care colleagues.
Speaking about the nomination, Farrah said: "I would like to thank, Lead Nurse for Community Emma Frain and all of the Community District Nursing teams for their continued support.
“I am extremely honoured and humbled to be shortlisted for this award, I hope that I can continue to be a positive role model for emerging leaders, from culturally diverse backgrounds, to work with dedication and achieve the highest of accolades in healthcare.”
The winners will be revealed on Wednesday 25 October.
