Recently Tameside and Glossop IC NHS FT launched a campaign to reduce and eliminate the incidences of violence, abuse and aggression towards their staff.

The No Excuse for Abuse posters have been circulated across the organisation for teams to use. The campaign covers all types of abuse and makes it clear that violence and aggression will not be tolerated.

In 2021 there were a total of 158 reported incidents of violence and aggression towards Trust staff. Chief Executive Karen James OBE said, “Violence, aggression, racist or physical abuse is never acceptable and we are united in ensuring that every member of our diverse workforce has the confidence that they are able to carry out their role and duties without being subjected to such abuse.”

Director of People and OD, Amanda Bromley, added, “I want colleagues to know that we fully support them and are actively doing everything we can to ensure our staff can work unhindered by such behaviour. The campaign also touches on the Trust’s commitment to equality, diversity and inclusion and treating everybody with dignity and respect.”

Look out for the campaign across the Trust’s social media channels.
