Patients and visitors are advised of upcoming works outside our Emergency Department.
Fountain Street
The following disruption is expected on Fountain Street outside our Emergency Department during the following periods:
- Monday 8 January for approximately one week: Temporary lights
- Monday 22 January for approximately two weeks: Full road closure
During the full closure from 22 January, all through traffic will be diverted around the site via Hartshead Close. A temporary drop-off point for patients attending our Emergency Department will be in place on Hartshead Way.
Access to the multi-storey car park and Tameside Macmillan Unit car park, as well as pedestrian access, will be unaffected throughout all work.
The closures are essential as work continues on our £20 million Emergency Department redevelopment. Due to open in Spring 2024, the state-of-the-art development will bring our urgent care services under one roof.
