The new kit bags for community nursing colleagues were implemented at the end of March and offer an all in one solution to increase the team’s efficiency.

Previously colleagues would use their own bags, which varied in size and were not always suitable for the job in hand.

The new kit bags are:

  • Infection prevention and control compliant (fully wipeable)
  • Branded with the Trust logo, enhancing public image and making the bags instantly recognisable to the general public – creating a really professional look
  • Colour coded to increase efficiency and makes restocking of items easier.

Emma Frain, Head of Nursing for Intermediate Tier Services, explains the advantages of the new kit bags, “our community nurses have seen many benefits since introducing the bags. Not only are the bags totally compliant with infection prevention and control but they are quick and easy to access because everything is colour coded and in one place, so the nurses know which sections to use when seeing certain patients.”

Grace Wall, Divisional Director and Associate Director of Nursing for Intermediate Tier Services, said, “I am delighted to make this investment into our community teams and pleased that the kit bags have been so well received.”
