The latest two winners have been announced for the Who’s Your Hero award, celebrating healthcare workers going the extra mile at Tameside and Glossop Integrated Care NHS Foundation Trust.
Freda Brereton and Hayley Pearson received their awards after being nominated by colleagues for going above and beyond.
The pair received their awards earlier this month from Trust Chief Executive, Karen James OBE, becoming the latest members of staff to be recognised for outstanding contributions to the organisation.
Freda, who has racked up over 24 years’ service in the Medical Records department, was nominated for her role in keeping the medical libraries in excellent condition, as well being a caring and compassionate colleague.
The long-serving medical clerk was presented with the award alongside the whole medical records team and will be sorely missed by the department as she approaches an upcoming retirement.
Hayley’s nomination from the Radiology department acknowledged her unwavering dedication to patient care and willingness to take on more responsibilities during a busy period.
The team also commented on Hayley’s enthusiasm to support new members of the team, going out of her way to provide a warm welcome, as well as being on hand to support existing staff with various duties.
Trust Chief Executive, Karen James OBE, said: “It was a privilege to hand out the latest awards and give my congratulations to both Freda and Hayley. We are lucky to have such a dedicated team who make our Trust a welcoming environment for both staff and patients.”
Both staff and members of the public are eligible to nominate someone who they believe deserves recognition. To make a nomination, fill out the form on our website: Who's Your Hero Awards :: Tameside and Glossop Integrated Care (tamesideandglossopicft.nhs.uk)
