The Executive Medical Director of Tameside Hospital is part of a group of NHS workers taking a staggering 300ft plunge in aid of charity.
Tameside & Glossop Integrated Care NHS Foundation Trust’s Dilraj Sandher will join four fearless fellow staff members for a bungee jump at Tatton Park across the weekend of 12/13 October.
Their exploits are all in pursuit of raising money towards supporting patients and staff through the Tameside and Glossop NHS Charity.
Money raised helps to fund projects that make hospital stays a little easier, provide staff with extra resources and improve healthcare in the area. From cutting-edge medical equipment to staff training programs, every donation counts.
Speaking ahead of his jump, Dilraj said: "It’s going to be an unforgettable experience for a cause we all care deeply about.
“While jumping off a platform 300ft in the air is a bit nerve-wracking, we are thrilled to help raise funds that will benefit both our patients and staff."
While Dilraj has smashed through his initial goal and has his sights set on a four-figure fundraising sum to go towards general projects for patients, staff and visitors, others are raising money for specific causes within the Trust.

Anna Bennett, a Paediatric Staff Nurse, is raising funds for improvements to our children’s High Care High Dependency Unit and has already collected more than half of her £300 target ahead of a Salford Quays bungee next month.
Dan Holmes, a Specialist Palliative Care Nurse, is raising money to support patients, and families of patients, receiving end of life care.
Georgia Holmes (Outpatients Receptionist) and Ian Chapman (Organisational Development Consultant) are also raising money for the general fund.
Tameside and Glossop NHS Charity Manager, Emily Burgin, added: “We’re so proud of Dilraj and the team for taking on this incredible challenge. Their passion for helping the community shines through—and who knows, we might even have a couple of spaces left for any other daredevils who want to join in!"
