A clever understanding of how technology can help both cancer patients and the professionals who care for them has earned Adedayo Adeboye a Who’s Your Hero Award.
Adedayo - Dee to friends and colleagues - was nominated by the Cancer Services Team at after he developed an app to help staff manage the workflow needed to control the stages of care of their patients.
The father of two boys, who lives in Cheadle with his wife, Kemi, moved to the UK six years ago from America. He has a background in banking and studied Data Management and Analytics at the University of Minnesota.
As the Trust’s Clinical Informatics Development and Technical Lead he, and a team of specialists, work with information technology to analyse and improve the quality of care provided to patients.
The Cancer Services Team say they nominated Dee not only because of the development of the app, which has made their job so much easier, but because of his patience and understanding as they explained the complex needs of their patients.
In his spare time Dee (40) says he likes to keep fit by running, cycling and going to the gym. He says : "Family is very important to me and I have to confess to being something of a DIY enthusiast in our home and in the garden.”
He was presented with his award by Trust Chief Executive Karen James OBE. She says: “We are so lucky to have people like Dee who are able to use their skills and talents to help their clinical colleagues improve the lives of patients. I am delighted to present him with his well earned award.”
