An assistant head chef at Tameside Hospital has won an award for her commitment to learning more than 20 years since first joining the organisation.

Trish Bromley was named Learner of the Year at the recent Greater Manchester Health and Care Champion Awards.

She was shortlisted in a group of three alongside another Tameside and Glossop NHS ICFT employee, Kriss Randles.

But Trish was announced as the overall winner at a ceremony held at the Science and Industry Museum.

Trish joined the Trust back in 2003 as a catering assistant and was promoted to her new position in 2022, beginning and subsequently completing the Production Chef Level 2 Apprenticeship.

She also completed Level 2 Functional Skills, an alternative qualification to GCSEs, alongside her apprenticeship - all while working full-time.
