Tameside and Glossop Integrated Care NHS FT has won three national awards and been shortlisted for a further eight.
The Trust was shortlisted in four categories of the National Patient Experience Network National Awards (PENNA) and went on to win two of those. The judges were so impressed with the teams and their presentations that they also awarded the Trust the accolade of the Best Integrated Care Organisation.
The Person and Community Centred Approaches Team were nominated for their work shifting the relationship between the public and service providers by having person centred conversations in the strengthening the foundation category.
The Admiral Nursing Team and the Porters won the environment of care category for their collaborative work developing a Porters’ Charter around portering standards for person centred care. This initiative has also been shortlisted in two categories for Nursing Times Awards, which will be announced at the end of October in London.
The Patient Experience and Volunteering Team were also shortlisted in two categories at the PENNA awards: Their innovative work with St John’s Ambulance to create a volunteering partnership to enhance patient experience was shortlisted in the partnership working to improve the experience category. Secondly, the implementation of a volunteer led Patient Property Centre was nominated in the personalisation of care category.

In what has been such a difficult year for all our health and social care colleagues, it is wonderful to know that the Patient Experience has still been such an important focus for so many. We want to congratulate all members of the teams from Tameside and Glossop Integrated Care NHS Foundation Trust on all their work, especially those that were category Runner Up and Winners. With so much wonderful work being presented throughout the week, we were also pleased to name them as the Best Integrated Care Organisation of 2021.”

Recently at the national HSJ (Health Service Journal) Patient Safety Awards, the Trust was shortlisted in four categories.

- Tameside and Glossop ICFT Daily Swabbing Process to facilitate Continuation of Elective Endoscopy Activity through COVID-19 in the category of Perioperative and Surgical Care Initiative of the Year
- Tameside and Glossop ICFT Wave Three Response to Enable Surgical Patient Flow in the category of Perioperative and Surgical Care Initiative of the Year
- Children’s Immunisations Team Drive-Through Immunisations – Providing young people in Tameside their immunisations whilst schools were in lockdown in the category of Improving Care for Children and Young People Initiative of the Year
- Tameside and Glossop Integrated Care Trust, Tameside Metropolitan Borough Council and North West Ambulance Service Handover on Scene Pilot in the category of Deteriorating Patients and Rapid Response Initiative of the Year
