This accessibility statement applies to Tameside and Glossop Integrated Care NHS Foundation Trust’s website.

This website is run by Tameside and Glossop Integrated Care NHS Foundation Trust. We want as many people as possible to be able to use this website. For example, that means you should be able to:

  • change colours, contrast levels and fonts using browser or device settings
  • zoom in up to 400% without the text spilling off the screen
  • navigate most of the website using a keyboard or speech recognition software
  • listen to most of the website using a screen reader (including the most recent versions of JAWS, NVDA and VoiceOver)

We’ve also made the website text as simple as possible to understand.

AbilityNet has advice on making your device easier to use if you have a disability.

Located at the bottom of every page is our accessibility toolbar, labelled 'Show accessibility tools' which toggles to ‘Hide accessibility tools’ to stop it from being visible.

Click on the toolbar to view various accessible options, including:

  • Text size
  • Contrast
  • Google Translate (we cannot guarantee the accuracy of the translation)

We know some parts of this website are not fully accessible:

  • you cannot modify the line height or spacing of text
  • most older PDF documents are not fully accessible to screen reader software
  • live video streams do not have captions

We’re always looking to improve the accessibility of this website.

If you find any problems or think we’re not meeting accessibility requirements, please email: websiteupdates@tgh.nhs.uk where your email will be picked up and responded to by the Communications Team.

The Equality and Human Rights Commission (EHRC) is responsible for enforcing the Public Sector Bodies (Websites and Mobile Applications) (No. 2) Accessibility Regulations 2018 (the ‘accessibility regulations’). If you’re not happy with how we respond to your complaint, contact the Equality Advisory and Support Service (EASS).

Tameside and Glossop Integrated Care NHS Foundation Trust is committed to making its website accessible, in accordance with the Public Sector Bodies (Websites and Mobile Applications) (No. 2) Accessibility Regulations 2018.

The website has been tested against the Web Content Accessibility Guidelines (WCAG) 2.2 AA standard.

This website is partially compliant with the Web Content Accessibility Guidelines version 2.2 AA standard, due to the non-compliances listed below.

The content listed below is non-accessible for the following reasons:

  • Board papers, some statutory information such as Trust policies and older patient information leaflets, are provided in PDF format and do not meet accessibility standards. The structure of the content is not always available to assistive technology, which makes the content difficult to understand and navigate for users of screen readers (Info and relationships 1.3.1). The language is missing in some of the documents (Language of Page 3.1.1) and some page titles are missing (2.4.2 Page Titled). We know that in the documents, particularly the Board Papers, there are tables which are not correctly marked up and are not picked up properly by assistive technology (1.3.1 Tables) and some imagery is missing alternative text (1.1.1 Non Text Content).

We are currently working on a plan to make current and relevant documents accessible by March 2024. Any documents we publish going forward will be created as HTML webpages or will meet accessibility standards if they are to be used.

This statement was prepared on 10/12/2024.

This website was last tested on 18/11/2024. The test was carried out using https://www.accessibilitychecker.org/. It will be reviewed in July 2025.

We work with the public, partners and communities to continuously improve our website. If you have any feedback about the accessibility of the website or any other feedback to improve user's experience of our website please contact us on websiteupdates@tgh.nhs.uk.
